Diary entry 12/15/07

Our Artists in Residence Show here at the Victory Arts Center went well. All of us sold work, and it was a great way for me to meet my new neighbors and fellow artists, as well as new patrons!

There are some nice shots in the snapshot section of the opening, the band,  assorted partygoers and fellow artists. Now on to an open house here in my studio space on the 19th.

It's that time of year again when friend Reba escapes the blow of winter in Buffalo and drops in to spend time with us. It's nice to be hunkering down for the holidays and out of the hassle of airports and traveling. I miss the ease of travel before the skies got dangerous and overcrowded. It used to make me laugh hearing my grandmother talk about the 'good old days when…'. So here I am recounting them in my own time. Guess that makes me old. Hope it makes me wiser . I know I miss getting lots of Christmas cards, people not worried about saying Merry Christmas, and what ever happened to caroling? I still make Christmas cookies, send cards, and since it's Christmas time, I say…Merry Christmas. People in our neighborhood have lights on their houses, and lawn decorations, like when I was young. I didn't expect it somehow, but I like it very much and appreciate that they care to be of good cheer.

Merry Christmas.
Peace… and be of good cheer.  Catherine
